Nestled north of Interstate 80 and just west of Grand Prairie Parkway lies Kettlestone Lakes, a 6.7 acre commercial site currently under development in Waukee. Approved for rezoning earlier this year and progressing quickly through preliminary and final plat stages in February 2025, this property is on track to become a vibrant mixed use destination.

Current Progress
Our latest aerial footage shows heavy equipment sculpting the land for Plat 1, complete with new road infrastructure and a signature roundabout that will serve future retail and commercial tenants. Developers are preparing building sites for upcoming restaurants, shops, hotels, office buildings, and more.

Development Vision
Kettlestone Lakes is being designed as a modern commercial hub, featuring landscaped pond areas, pedestrian pathways, and nearly four acres of green space. Its prime location along Interstate 80 gives it unmatched visibility, while the surrounding Kettlestone corridor creates opportunities for walkable connections to nearby neighborhoods and future developments.

Why It Matters to Waukee
Kettlestone Lakes is positioned to become a cornerstone of Waukee’s future growth. It will serve as a commercial gateway into the city, supporting a mix of local businesses and national brands. The vision aligns with the broader Kettlestone master plan, which focuses on blending commerce, recreation, and sustainable design into a new city center.

What Lies Ahead
Expect continued grading and roadwork over the summer. Initial building pads are anticipated to be ready later this year, with vertical construction to follow soon after. We’ll continue to share aerial updates as the development takes shape.
