The DDC23 Conference in Denver, CO was awesome. We had the opportunity to attend the conference and everything from the keynote, to break out sessions, demos, and of course great food & entertainment we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The future of reality capture, automation and AI is here. Some highlights included remote deployed drones where sites might need several captures per week and/or are too long and difficult to drive to. The DJI Dock with the Matrice 30 was incredible to watch. Hearing a story about a guy who lives 2.5 hours away from the job site but can launch and run successful missions at the site from home was mind blowing. Watching the Boston Dynamics “Spot” practice his/her land roving was also very cool. This robot dog is loaded with technology, including a 360 cam to document the inside of construction sites at night. This not only provides incredible near real time documentation, but also enables “X-Ray Vision” where anyone can take a smart phone, point it at the wall, and see what’s in that wall based on images that were shot in early build stages. Incredible stuff!
